Privacy Policy

Welcome to EZ Fate (www.ez-fate.com, "the site", "we"). This policy explains how the site handles your information. It covers every page of the site, including the astrology, Zi Wei Dou Shu, BaZi and I Ching tools.

1. Core principle: charts are calculated in your browser

• Local calculation: astrology, Zi Wei Dou Shu and BaZi charts, and I Ching castings, are all calculated in your own browser.
• Nothing sent to our servers: the site's code does not send the name, sex, birth date, time or place you enter to us or to any third party, and our servers have no database that stores them.

2. Temporary storage and "Remember my birth details"

• By default (this tab only): so you do not have to retype them when moving between the astrology, Zi Wei Dou Shu and BaZi tools, the birth details you enter are kept in this browser tab's sessionStorage. They survive reloading or moving between pages in the same tab, and your browser clears them when you close the tab.
• If you tick "Remember my birth details" (stored on your device): only after you tick the box does the site also keep a copy in your browser's localStorage on this device, to fill in the form on your next visit. It stays on your device; our servers cannot read it.
• Deleting: untick the box, or press "Clear" above the form, to delete these details at once. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings.

3. Shared links

The astrology tool's "Copy link" encodes your birth details after the # in the URL so you can share a chart. By browser design, anything after # is not sent to a server with the page request, but the link itself contains your birth details, so share it only with people you trust. The site creates such a link only when you press "Copy link".

4. I Ching questions

A question you type when consulting the I Ching stays in your browser's memory only. It is not stored or sent anywhere, and it is gone when you close the tab.

5. Preferences

The site keeps two preferences in your browser's localStorage, interface language and light or dark theme, so they carry over between pages.

6. Third-party services

Pages on this site load the third-party services below. The site's code does not give them anything you type into the forms. Data they collect themselves is handled under their own privacy policies.

• Cloudflare (hosting): like most websites, our host automatically processes standard connection information such as IP address, browser type and time of visit, to deliver pages, keep connections working and block attacks. These records do not include the birth details you enter. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
• Google AdSense (advertising): this site uses Google AdSense to show ads.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings, or opt out of participating third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. See how Google uses data from partner sites.
  • This site does not give the birth details you enter, or your chart results, to Google's advertising systems, and does not use them for ad targeting.
• Google Fonts (typefaces): some fonts are served from Google's servers. When your browser downloads them, Google receives connection information such as your IP address. See the Google privacy policy.

The site does not currently use web analytics, heatmaps or session recording tools. If we add any, we will update this policy first.

7. Keeping your information safe

• Shared devices: on a public, library or someone else's computer, do not tick "Remember my birth details", and press "Clear" or close the tab when you are done.
• Your device: keep your device and browser secure, and avoid browser extensions from unknown sources, which can read what you type into web pages.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site changes. For significant changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
